He was still very young - and while legally an adult - his prefrontal cortex (the area in the brain that is responsible for planning, decision-making, and self-control) was not fully developed. It generally does not finish developing until around age 25. He may not have been forced or coerced, but he still may not have entirely understood just how dangerous it could be in order to make a fully-informed, fully "adult" decision about going on the submersible or not.

A******s like him get their just desserts eventually, so drunk or not, you don’t need to do more than tell them to go f*****k themselves because no one else will, then go about the rest of your day and don’t give them another thought. By doing what she did, Corbie didn’t score any points for women, she just made herself into a worse person than he is. She lowered herself to his level then jumped down several more levels lower, and turned him into the victim instead. As a woman who has never suffered a fool or an a*****e, I just cannot condone what she did. Why she did it, yeah I can see it, and have felt that way myself, way too many times to count.
